History of Playtech

Playtech started out in Tartu, Estonia, in 1999 and gained popularity for its poker network. Teddy Sagi and other brilliant minds specialising in multimedia, software and casino industries found it. In 2001, just two years later, Playtech launched its first casino product, and in 2004, they launched the iPoker network and expanded at a rapid rate, knowing that they could dominate the market.

Playtech seems to be going big every two years, and once again, just two years later, in 2006, they launched into the bingo market with Bingo Broadway. Since then, they have dominated this sector, with over 100 of the biggest operators belonging to Playtech. 2006 also saw Playtech launch on the London Stock exchange.

In 2008, Playtech once again made iGaming history when they signed an online gaming software licence agreement with William Hill and then also signed a joined venture for William Hill online. It would seem that with every passing year since, Playtech reached a remarkable milestone, anchoring themselves as the leaders of the iGaming industry.

Playtech's other achievements include the 2013 venture where they created a mobile casino for Betfred and partnered with Ladbrokes. They have since launched Playtech One, a multi-channel solution, signed a deal with Warner Brothers in 2017, opened the largest live dealer casino in Latvia, acquired Eyecon, and made its way into the US and Canada.
